JAN 12th – WCC & Seattle Parks Co-Sponsored Public Meeting

In 2008, Seattle voters approved the Parks & Green Spaces Levy which identified Wedgwood NE of Dahl Field as deficient in park space.  As a result, legislatively-approved funding is available to our community to acquire a new park.  The WCC’s Parks Committee began soliciting ideas for potential park acquisition sites and hosted a community meeting in March 2010.  Since that meeting, the Parks Committee has integrated the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department’s site selection criteria with those values shared by the community at the March meeting.  From this Wedgwood-specific site selection criteria, the Park Committee ranked those potential park sites.

On January 12th, the WCC will announce the recommended site to pursue for Wedgwood’s soon-to-be park! So mark your calendar, tell your neighbors, spread the word, and get excited for a new park for our great neighborhood.  As if getting a new park isn’t enough, the WCC will be selling new WEDGWOOD T-SHIRTS (limited quantities and sizes are available).

MEETING DETAILS: January 12th 2011, 7pm – 8:30pm at the Wedgwood Presbyterian Church.

  1. Looking forward to it. The t-shirts are dark green with a white design of trees and the word Wedgwood — they look very good.

  2. A big, big THANK YOU from the Wedgwood Community to Dave Atcheson, Bill Dock and Per Johnson for all their work on this new, fresh webpage! Looks great!
