46th District gets a new state senator while candidates line up for new state representative vacancy

As those of you who follow the Wedgwood Community Council on our Facebook page would know, the King County Council swore in David Frockt yesterday to be the new District 46th state senator.  This followed last week’s formal endorsement of Frockt by the 46th District Democrats.  Frockt, who was a freshman Representative, received attention for passing the first bill in the nation that bans coal tar sealants and another bill to protect domestic violence victims rights.

The appointment of now-Senator Frockt leaves a vacancy in the House.  Several folks are already lining up to seek the nomination to be the District’s next State Representative.  More information on this process can be found on the 46th District Democrats website and the King County Democrats website.
