Important upcoming dates

Mother’s Day is coming this Sunday, May 13.   Be sure to write, call, visit and honor your mother and other women who have had positive input into your life.

Another important upcoming event this week is Wednesday, May 9, the Wedgwood Community Council’s annual meeting with elections.  Elections are conducted by checking off your name on the WCC membership list (are your dues up to date?) and simply marking your ballot when you come in the door.  The meeting will be at 7 PM at Wedgwood Presbyterian Church on 35th Ave NE at the corner of NE 80th Street (enter on the 80th Street side.)  We encourage all WCC members to come anytime from 6:45 PM to cast your vote and show support for WCC, even if you can’t stay long.

After brief announcements at the start of the meeting, the speaker on May 9th will be City Councilmember Sally Bagshaw.  She will update us on issues of concern to Wedgwood, including Neighborhood Greenways, part of her work on the Parks and Neighborhoods committee.  Bring your questions about parks and development in Wedgwood.
