The Northeast District Council, comprised of community councils from northeast Seattle, is holding their annual December Food & Clothing Drive at this Thursday’s meeting, December 6 from 7-9 PM at Wedgwood Presbyterian Church. The drive will collect food for the University District Food Bank, Roots Young Adult Shelter, and Sanctuary (art center for street youth). More information is on the image to the right.
Donations will be accepted at Thursday’s meeting, 7-9PM, in the Fireside Room.
Some of the food needs for the U District Food Bank include:
- Single serving, shelf stable milk and fruit juice
- Fruit and apple sauce cups
- Single serving microwavable meals
- Instant oatmeal
- and other foods that preserves well.
Some of the clothing needs for Roots Young Adult Shelter include:
- New underwear
- Hoodies
- Winter coats
- Backpacks
- Bus tickets
- Grocery and Drug Store Gift Cards
- Batteries
- Flashlights
- Pillows
Some art supplies needed for Sanctuary include:
- Stretched canvas
- Pastel boards
- Sketch books
- Notebooks
- New frames
