Saturday at Grateful Bread: Birds and Trees

Recently Wedgwood’s Seattle Audubon Society had an information table at Grateful Bread Bakery, 7001 35th Ave NE, and it was so much fun that they plan to do it again.  This Saturday, February 16, from 10:30 AM to 1 PM, look for an info table at Grateful Bread about Seattle Audubon’s upcoming Tree Census Project.  You can have your morning coffee and muffin at the Grateful Bread Bakery while learning about what’s going on with birds, trees, and the health of our environment.

And don’t forget the 2013 Great Backyard Bird Count which begins on Friday, February 15.  You can participate from wherever you are, at home or at work, at any time over the four-day event.  Visit the official website to create a GBBC account, get tips and checklists.  This annual bird count gives scientists valuable information on migration patterns, the interactions of weather and differences in bird diversity over time.
