2013 Wading Pool Season

Northacres Spray Park

With hot weather predicted for the coming week, water play can help keep kids cool.  Wading Pool Season has opened at nearby Dahl Playfield at 7700 25th Ave NE, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 7 PM.  At Magnuson Park, 7400 Sand Point Way NE, the wading pool is open from noon to 6:30 PM daily.

Green Lake has one of the largest and most popular wading pools for kiddies at 7201 E. Greenlake Dr. N., open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM.  Green Lake Park also has lifeguarded beaches on both the east and west sides.

Matthews Beach does not have a wading pool but has the advantages of an adjacent picnic area and playground for children.  There are lifeguards on the beach from 12 to 7 weekdays and 11 to 7 weekends.  Matthews Beach, accessed on NE 93rd Street off of Sand Point Way NE, has plenty of cool shade in the evenings as the hillside faces east toward Lake Washington and is shielded from the western sun.

The nearest spray park is at Northacres, 12800 1st Ave NE, open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM.  The complete parks and pools schedule of Seattle’s 2013 Wading Pool Season is here.  The hotline number is 684-7796 with info updated by 9:30 AM daily.  Wading pools will only open on days when the temperature is to reach at least 70 degrees, and will close in case of thunderstorms.
