Sorry for the late summary on this, but I’ve had some difficulties with “logging in” over the past week and haven’t been able to include any updates on this. However, last Thursday, Mayor McGinn and City Traffic Engineer Dongho Chang unveiled four alternative alignments to improve NE 75th Street. Clint Loper, a Bryant resident and phenomenal advocate for safe routes for kids also spoke at the press release on the need for improved street safety for all. All 4 alignments are being considered and will be more fully explained at this week’s community meetings hosted by SDOT.
- Meeting 1 (evening): Wednesday, July 24th, 7-9PM in the Fellowship Hall (downstairs) at Wedgwood Presbyterian Church (8008 35th Ave NE)
- Meeting 2 (daytime): Thursday, July 25th, 1-3PM in the Fellowship Hall (downstairs) at Messiah Lutheran Church (7050 35th Ave NE)
At this point, there’s very little information that we can provide that hasn’t already been explained by the intrepid reporter/editor over at the Ravenna Blog. Rebecca has done a wonderful job of summarizing the four alternatives, has images of the potential road sections, footage from local news coverage, and a POLL for folks to vote on their preferred alternative. So, do yourself a favor and check out the Ravenna Blog’s excellent coverage (she’ll be live blogging Wednesday night’s meeting too – THIS LINK WILL BE LIVE THE DAY OF THE MEETING).
