It’s time for the Big Green Community Picnic and Festival, Tuesday, August 13 from 5:30 to 9 PM. This family-friendly event is sponsored by Seattle Greendrinks and Sustainable Seattle. The festival will have live music, lawn games, food trucks, info about green businesses (sustainable practices), and a beer garden serving Sierra Nevada. Learn about Sustainability and Green Businesses while having fun and enjoying summer outdoors at the Gathering Place at Hunter Tree Farm, next to the post office in Wedgwood. A suggested donation of $5 can be made at the entrance. Be sustainable: bring your own plates, eating utensils and cups or mugs.
Some of the participating organizations at Big Green are: Wilridge Winery, Mighty-O Donuts, Caravan Crepes, Snoqualmie Ice Cream, Car2go, Seattle Tilth, Burke Museum, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways, and many more….check the Seattle Greendrinks page to see them all. And if your business or organization wants to participate, there is sign-up info.
