Paddle for Plants

Paddle for Plants is an end of summer tradition at the Washington Park Arboretum, a tour of wetlands in kayaks loaned from Agua Verde Paddle Club.  All proceeds from the tours go toward scholarship funds which help underprivileged students take part in science-based school field trip programs.

The cost of a kayak tour at Paddle for Plants is $30 per person; kayaks are doubles and you can register at Agua Verde.

Located on the Lake Washington Shoreline, the UW Botanic Gardens include the longest stretch of freshwater marsh in Washington State.  There’s no better way to enjoy this wetland ecosystem than by kayaking!

Register for a Paddle for Plants tour soon, because time slots fill up fast.  Available times are:  Thursday, September 5 and Friday September 6 at 11 AM or 3 PM; Saturday, September 7 at 8 and 11 AM.
