Washington State Governor Jay Inslee has directed that state and USA flags at all state agencies will be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. National Patriot Day on September 11 is the annual memorial to the victims of the 2001 tragedy. Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business on Wednesday or first thing on Thursday morning, September 12.
On December 7, 2013, National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day will also be observed with flags at half-staff. At other times, flags may be lowered at the governor’s direction in the event of the death of a state official. You can sign up to receive an e-mail notice of this info from the governor’s office.
