The City of Seattle is looking for new Tree Ambassadors to be a valued part of Seattle’s urban forestry network. Tree Ambassadors are volunteers who nurture Seattle’s trees. Volunteers are trained within a project area and have the opportunity to attend a variety of fun and informative workshops on topics like tree identification and community engagement.
Seeking Tree Lovers in these project areas:
1. Tree Walks: Show off your favorite trees in your favorite part of Seattle. Learn the basics of making maps, identifying trees, and creating walking routes to engage your neighbors and coworkers in the urban landscape.

Wednesday, March 12; 5:30 – 8 pm (dinner included) AND
Saturday, March 15; 9 am – 1 pm (lunch included)
Attendance both days is required to complete the training
Training held at the Forterra office, 901 5th Ave Seattle
2. Landscape Renewal: Does seeing a tree choked by ivy drive you crazy? This project track is for you. Tree Ambassadors in this project area will plan and organize small-scale renovation projects on City of Seattle land in residential areas. Renovation work includes removing invasive plants, planting trees and understory plants, and mulching. We’ll help you develop a plan, recruit volunteer help, and lead work parties.

Saturday, April 5; 9 am -1 pm

3. Street Tree Stewardship: Volunteers in our Street Tree Stewardship track adopt street tree plantings and help our young trees thrive. Street Tree Stewardship volunteers plan work parties and recruit volunteers to mulch, weed, and care for the trees that are essential to making our neighborhoods walkable, sustainable, beautiful, and healthy.
