Holidays and Helping: Thanksgiving Baskets for Ryther

Case Manager Ana C. teaches a Safe Bodies Group at Ryther.

The holiday season is a time when organizations and families can give community support through the many outreach efforts in and around Wedgwood.  The first of the season is the opportunity to contribute to Thanksgiving baskets for children and families associated with Ryther, 2400 NE 95th Street.

Named for Mother Ryther who cared for needy children beginning in the 1880’s in Seattle, Ryther today is a leader in behavioral health services for children and their families facing complex challenges.  The Ryther organization has stepped into the gap to fill the need for therapy for children experiencing issues including emotional problems or chemical abuse.

Ryther invites community participation in providing Thanksgiving baskets for families associated with their programs including foster care.  Each basket contains canned green beans, cranberry sauce, fresh potatoes, a $20 grocery store gift card and other items.  If you would like to help contribute, contact Chris Veltri at chrisv@ryther.org or 206-517-0286.
