Hot weather and holidays: pet warnings

Whenever there is hot weather, thunderstorms or holiday loud noises such as fireworks, pet owners should make arrangements to keep cats and dogs comfortable and safe.

University of Washington Professor of Atmospheric Sciences Cliff Mass wrote a blog post about the connection between hot weather and lost cats.  Charts of the lost-cat intake at the King County animal shelter correlated with hot weather.

Cliff Mass made several suggestions, including using social media to help reunite lost cats with their owners, especially by taking a photo of a lost cat and posting it.
