Do you want to give less “stuff” and more value for this season’s gifts? You can give someone a membership to the NE Seattle Tool Library, the gift that keeps on giving throughout the year. The NE Seattle Tool Library is located at 2415 NE 80th Street and will be open this week on Thursday evening, December 17th, from 5 to 8 PM, then on Saturday 9 to 3 and Sunday 2 to 5. This week’s hours of operation are the last before holiday closure until January 2nd.
The Tool Library is a source for tools which you can borrow: no need to buy a rototiller which you would use only once per year! You can borrow tools all year long and participate in other resources at the Tool Library, such as free training in skills, and classes on a wide range of subjects. The Tool Library even has sets of dishes and glassware which you can borrow for holiday-season big family dinners!
Go to the membership tab on the NE Seattle Tool Library page and take a look at all of the advantages — including the on-line searchable inventory of tools. In January the Tool Library will reopen with its monthly calendar of great activities, including Fixer’s Collective — bring in any household object and get help on how to repair it.
