Neighbor Appreciation Day 2016

Seattle’s Department of Neighborhoods invites groups, businesses, and residents to participate in Neighbor Appreciation Day on February 13, 2016.  This could be a good time to organize a street-clean-up party, a coffee or dessert event, or a play day for children while the adults meet to get better acquainted.  All statistics point to knowing-your-neighbors as the best way to get organized for emergencies and the best way to be a Blockwatch for safety.

Neighbor Appreciation Day began more than twenty years ago as a way to reach out, create new friends, and express thanks to our neighbors who make Seattle such a great place to live. Anyone can participate – from planning an event to inviting your neighbor for coffee. Here are some ways you can be a part of Neighbor Appreciation Day:

The Wedgwood and Lake City Fire Stations will have Open House on Neighbor Appreciation Day from 11 AM to 1 PM.  Wedgwood Station 40 is at 9401 35th Ave NE and Lake City Fire Station 39 is at 2806 NE 127th Street.
