Celebration at the Confluence

There will be a festival event on Saturday, June 11th in Meadowbrook, the neighborhood just north of Wedgwood, where you can learn about the Thornton Creek Watershed.

Confluence event June 11 2016The Confluence is the place on 35th Ave NE where the two main branches of Thornton Creek converge.  In 2015 the improvements to the flood-plain area along 35th Ave NE between NE 105th to 115th were completed with changes to the creek bed and the Meadowbrook Pond.  Now, a year later, the Thornton Creek Alliance volunteer group is hosting a celebration and a perspective on our urban watershed.  This festival event will have tours, music, food trucks and activities for children.

Everyone is invited to come on Saturday, June 11th, from 2 to 6 PM at the Meadowbrook Pond, located across from the Meadowbrook Community Center, 10517 35th Ave NE.  Look for the large boulders on the east side of 35th Ave NE which mark the entrance to Meadowbrook Pond, and follow the path.
