The week of July 11 to 16, 2016 is full of opportunities to enjoy music, movies and more, in Wedgwood and nearby northeast Seattle venues.
Music, barbecue, baseball and trivia nights are on tap at Fiddler’s Inn in the month of July. On Wednesday evening, July 13th, is the beginning of the Summer Nights concerts at University Village. On Thursday afternoons there is the Lake City Farmers Market next to the Lake City Branch Library, which includes childrens activities. On Thursday evenings you can take in food trucks, childrens activities and an outdoor movie at Magnuson Park.
On Thursday and Saturday, July 14 and 16, there will be meetings about the Missing Link on the Burke Gilman Trail. If you are a Trail user, weigh in on the alternatives to get the gap fixed finally, after all these years.
On Friday evening, July 15, join in with the Tenth Anniversary Celebration at the Northgate Community Center. From 6 to 8 PM there will be music, hot dogs, face painting and other childrens activities, located on 5th Ave NE across the street from the Macy’s side of the Northgate Mall.
On the weekend, you may ponder your ballot which will arrive in the mail this week. Take time to read up on the measures listed on the ballot and you can either mail in the ballot or use one of the drop-boxes.

Ballot drop-boxes (no postage needed) will be placed at the Ballard, Broadview and Lake City Branch Libraries.
After filling out your elections ballot, a less-stressful weekend task might be to browse the list of FREE trees from the Trees for Neighborhoods program. Applications can be submitted beginning on Monday, July 18th, but since applications will be taken in a lottery-style system, you have until August 8th to turn in your request.
In addition to this webpage, you can keep up with all of the Wedgwood neighborhood news on Facebook, Twitter and via the electronic newsletter (comes out with event announcements.) Find out about the history of the neighborhood on Valarie’s Wedgwood in Seattle History blog.
Have a fun week in Wedgwood!
