On Saturday, December 3rd, you can enjoy cookies, hot cider and shade-grown coffee while doing your holiday gift-buying at the Seattle Audubon Nature Shop, 8050 35th Ave NE in Wedgwood.
The Seattle Audubon Nature Shop will have their Holiday Open House from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, December 3rd. The shop offers a wonderful selection of thoughtful gifts including cards, books, and jewelry, and a wide assortment of gifts for children including books, toys and educational games.
Gift wrapping will be FREE at the Holiday Open House — have a cookie, cider and shade-grown coffee while your purchases are wrapped.
An additional special event during the Holiday Open House will be the 5 PM unveiling of a new sculpture called Feathers for the Future. To honor Seattle Audubon’s one hundredth year and further support fundraising for the centennial, thanks to a generous bequest from the estate of George Johnson, Seattle Audubon has commissioned a sculpture by local artist to be installed outside the Nature Shop.
Stuart Nakamura’s concept of two soaring hawks will allow donors at the $500- and $1,000-levels to personalize a commemorative feather on the sculptures. Forty-five feathers have already been reserved, don’t miss this chance to leave your mark on a moment in history.
