Seattle Audubon’s new sculpture, Feathers for the Future, will be installed at 5 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
An additional special event during the Holiday Open House will be the 5 PM unveiling of a new sculpture called Feathers for the Future. To honor Seattle Audubon’s one hundredth year and further support fundraising for the centennial, thanks to a generous bequest from the estate of George Johnson, Seattle Audubon has commissioned a sculpture by local artist to be installed outside the Nature Shop.
Stuart Nakamura’s concept of two soaring hawks will allow donors at the $500- and $1,000-levels to personalize a commemorative feather on the sculptures. Forty-five feathers have already been reserved, don’t miss this chance to leave your mark on a moment in history.
