Along with two sidewalk projects, some water meter work is going on in Wedgwood.
SPU relocating water meters
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is relocating water meters this week. This process includes shutting off water to your home for up to an hour. SPU staff will knock on doors to inform and alert you when they plan to relocate your home’s water meter. If you’re not home, SPU staff may proceed with water shut off and meter location. It is anticipated that Thursday, January 19th is the last day for this work.
Additional utility work next week, January 23 to 27
As part of the sidewalk construction near Wedgwood School, SPU crews will relocate the fire hydrant at the west end of NE 83rd Street by Ravenna Ave. This will include shutting off water for a few hours. SPU will distribute notices 48 hours in advance of the water shut off.
NE 83rd Street, between 28th to Ravenna Avenues, is closed to through-traffic during a sidewalk construction project as part of Safe Routes to Schools.
