The votes from 2017 Your Voice, Your Choice: Parks and Streets have been tallied, and the list of funded projects includes one in Wedgwood.
In June, residents from all over Seattle voted on how to spend $2,000,000 of the City budget on small-scale improvements to streets and parks. Just one of the proposed projects fell within Wedgwood’s boundaries — crossing improvements on 35th Ave NE at NE 80th Street.
Receiving 188 votes, the Wedgwood project made the cut and was granted $80,000. The winning projects will be included in City Departments’ 2018 budget and will be implemented in 2018.
The crossing improvements on 35th Ave NE at NE 80th Street will likely coincide with the 35th Ave NE Paving Project, which is scheduled to begin construction in Winter 2018.
