Wedgwood Public House Is Open!

Wedgwood Public House, the new restraunt and bar in the former Wedgwood Ale House space, has officially opened!  After 11 months of significant interior improvements, the new Wedgwood Public House is finally serving food and pouring frothy beverages with wall murals and big screen TVs providing updated ambience.

This weekend is the soft opening of the new public house.  But, we understand that it is an all-ages, family friendly restaurant with a 21-year and older bar.  We don’t have the official hours yet, but we understand that they will be open on weekends all day, including breakfast.  For more information, keep an eye on their website (wedgwoodpublic.com) which should go live later this week.

In addition to the Wedgwood Public House, other food establishments will be opening soon in this building.  We understand these restaurants should start opening in approximately 3 weeks.  More to come on those soon!

  1. Not a chance I’ll ever step foot into that place after what the building owner did to Kip and the staff of Wedgwood Ale House. He’s an absolutely horrible, greedy, abusive owner who neither cares or knows anything about the neighborhood.

  2. What Kate said. Kip and crew were out for Halloween collecting for Northwest Harvest even though they no longer have a place of business in Wedgwood. They are truly part of the community. The new owners of the building have done little to show they want to be a part of Wedgwood. We’ll continue to go to the Broiler as long as we can.

  3. hi
why are you advertising for the wedgwood public house? you should not! the ale house was the heart of wedgwood, can’t even bear to go by, won’t go near the new place!

  4. Well who runs the new Wedgwood Public House? Not the “evil” owners of the building I assume? Maybe we could give them a chance?

      1. Yes, indeed! These comments are so childish. Previius owners may be great guys but if they cared as much as you say about the people they made food for they would have spent some time cleaning the place. Went there for decades. When the restroom was flat out disgusting and your shoes stuck to the filthy restaurant floor we just couldn’t feel good about eating there anymore. If they didn’t clean what was visible to customers I cringe to consider the kitchen. I miss the “idea” of the local place but it really went downhill. Surprised it wasn’t cited by health dept. I hope there’ve found something they really care about and make it obvious. I know they were nice people. And I think the new owners should be welcomed and supported; previous owner issues were not their fault! Geeesh!

  5. What Kate and Susan said. Will never step a foot in this place. Check out that crap beer list. I miss Kip, Matt, Jeff and crew more than ever seeing that terrible list.

    1. That is the worst beer list. Really? No class. I’ve seen more variety of beers at a truck stop in the middle of Nevada.

    1. They will have an Indian restaurant opening in the next few weeks, I looked it up and it seems like their other location has vegan options so they might still have something for you!

  6. Awesome to see the pub house open again even if under new management, good to have more options in this neighborhood and I’m excited for weekend brunch! Gotta make sure to support our local businesses to keep them here.

  7. Juan, that is a great point about local biz but it misses the whole point re the Ale House, also misses many points re why small business leave Seattle!

    1. Hey Katie, thanks for your reply, I think it’s sad to see the previous bar go, but I really wonder what the alternative is here. Ultimately the land owner makes the call and they wanted to do something different and I’m glad they are still providing the community with food and a place to hang out. Aside from being sad about it, what could we have done to get a different outcome? I’m unaware of the whole situation but I assume the bar previously wasn’t bringing enough revenue? People sometimes want different things, I don’t think it make sense to make this be about evil greed just because the old staff is gone.

      1. He had the option to keep the same menu and hire the same staff or have Kip run the bar. It was a unique place because of the staff, great menu and amazing beer list. It now looks like any sports bar USA and that was not what the neighborhood wants

  8. When I moved to Seattle in 1997, this is where my roommates and I would come to watch Southpark episodes on the TV. The whole bar was laughing. Southpark was quite the novelty back then.
