Volunteers of the Wedgwood Community Council turned out on October 23rd to clean up our future park at the corner of NE 86th Street.
Get to know community volunteers and do community service at the same time at a work party on Sunday, October 23rd at 10:30 AM. Volunteers will weed, rake, and remove trash at the corner of NE 86th Street in Wedgwood’s Future Park (called Morningside).
Sustainable NE Seattle is coordinating a Painting Party on Thursday, September 29th from 2 to 4 PM at the Hunter Tree Farm site, to paint the benches.
In the month of October there will be autumn-themed activities for children at several neighborhood resources in northeast Seattle, plus the traditional Halloween Business District Trick-or-Treat in Wedgwood.
The Wedgwood Community Council invites one and all to the community picnic on Saturday, September 17th, from 4 to 8 PM at the Hunter Tree Farm.
The Northgate Community Center will have a tenth-anniversary party on Friday, July 15th from 6 to 8 PM. The Community Center is located across 5th Ave NE from the Macy’s side of the Northgate Mall, and is next door to the Northgate Branch Library.
On Friday, July 1st at 6 PM there will be a bluegrass concert and ice cream social at Magnuson Park.
Thursday, July 7th is the start of Outdoor Movie Season at Magnuson Park, with food and entertainment in the early evening before the movie begins.
Sustainable NE Seattle will host work parties at The Gathering Place at Hunter Tree Farm on Tuesday evening June 7 and Saturday morning, June 11, and a Backyard Barter event on Sunday afternoon, June 12.
Seattle Parks & Recreation has a posted schedule for use of wading pools and spray parks. The season starts NOW — check the recording message in the morning. Pools open when daytime temperature is predicted to reach 70 degrees.
