About the Community Council

The Wedgwood Community Council (WCC) represents the concerns of local residents in dealing with the City. We offer a forum for Wedgwood residents to air opinions, ideas, grievances, and announcements of community interest. We also coordinate events that benefit the community, including the Wedgwood Outdoor Cinema, Wedgwood Business Trick-or-Treat, and presentations at WCC general meetings.

Meetings

The Wedwood Community Council typically hosts a general meeting on the second Thursday of odd-numbered months, 7 p.m. at the Wedgwood Presbyterian Church, 35th NE & NE 80th. Meetings are announced on signboards along 35th Ave NE and in the Wedgwood Echo. If you need transportation, please contact one of the trustees.

Officers and trustees also typically meet on the third Monday of every month, 7 p.m. in the Wedgwood Presbyterian Church, 35th NE & NE 80th. All are welcome; please contact the council president if you wish to be on the agenda.

You can verify the date and time for a particular meeting on the web calendar.

Community Newsletter

The newsletter of the Wedgwood Community Council, the Wedgwood Echo, is published six times a year—in January, March, May, July, September, and November. With the exception of one edition (typically the July issue), which goes out to all Wedgwood households, newsletters are sent to approximately 400 dues-paying households. Additional copies are typically distributed to area businesses.

Submissions

Submissions of news items and notices of interest to Wedgwoodians are encouraged. Please email submissions to Echo editor Helen Yee, wedgwoodecho@gmail.com. Submissions are subject to editing for length and clarity and publication is not guaranteed. Deadlines are below.

Each deadline is for the following month's issue.
