Mar 3, 2010 6:19 PMwalking trails (no bikes or roller skates) Peace and quiet
Mar 3, 2010 8:18 PMWalking and biking. The wiggle-waggle 42nd Street that winds up from Mathew's Beach and the Burke-Gilman trail must be preserved for its natural habitat and beauty
Mar 3, 2010 8:18 PMspace for tweens and teens!
Mar 3, 2010 8:34 PMDogs should be allowed @ playfields, etc. (scoop laws enforced)
Mar 3, 2010 10:46 PMKeep large traffic events like sports games out of our parks.
Mar 3, 2010 11:08 PMWould like to see more tennis courts and running trails
Mar 4, 2010 1:57 AMIt would be lovely to have more small playgrounds for small children and places for elderly and other ages to linger and mix with young families while strolling for errands (mailing a letter, library, coffee, etc. and for a "walk in the woods" without a drive by developing the Wedgwood ravines.
Mar 4, 2010 2:02 AMFarmers Market

Mar 4, 2010 8:45 PMI think the lawn/garden type space might be the least used on a consistent basis. But it would be nice. For examples of what might be nice in Seattle are Jamison Square and Tanner Springs Park in Portland's Pearl District.
Mar 4, 2010 8:56 PMPlayfields are great, but they take a lot of space, and we already have Dahl.

Mar 5, 2010 4:49 AMFelling of separation from traffic, walkability to/from
Mar 5, 2010 8:35 AMdesign the park for its setting: obviously a ravine with steep terraine is all about the natural setting, but a small "pocket park" has got to be designed for its intended use - to provide city dwellers with a space to recreate - ie playground and dogs and fences to keep balls in and not hit traffic and benches for seniors
Mar 5, 2010 4:00 PMDahl field is often flooded and wet and therefore not usable. Water management should be better considered, otherwise, this space is not very useful.
Mar 5, 2010 5:24 PMwalking destination
Mar 5, 2010 7:08 PMIn greenbelt or even smaller areas of parks, use native evergreens - firs, cedars, etc.
Mar 5, 2010 9:03 PMOnly Meadowbrook offers 'nature' areas; Wedgwood is asphalt! Dahl is not accessible and TC is a joke; Eckstein, meh.
Mar 6, 2010 5:08 AMCommunity events - concerts, movies, fairs, etc.Dificult to think o

Mar 6, 2010 10:15 PMDefined trails, dog areas, garbage cans, lighting. While less important but nice because it keeps the parks cleaner, well maintained restrooms.
Mar 7, 2010 3:07 PMHow about a pea patch? Or encouraging gardening to take over some of the open spaces between homes and in unused curbside areas?
Mar 7, 2010 8:36 PMBike trail connection us toi the4 birk gillman trail
Mar 7, 2010 11:34 PMTown square will increase transients to our area.
Mar 8, 2010 12:19 AMView Ridge park is great for it's multi-usefulness (wading pool, athletic field, circular bike/skate path, park area, picnic area)
Mar 8, 2010 6:50 PMCrime is increasing on parks and open spaces- beware of offering those havens to those that already have infiltrated Magnusen and put grafetti in wedgewood

Mar 10, 2010 6:27 PMNortheast Seattle does not have enough playfields. LVR, NESLL and NSBA teams are stacked up. With that said, I can't recommend a space that would accommodate more playfields.
Mar 11, 2010 2:29 AMopen spaces and small 'pocket' parks should be tucked in smaller spaces...don't need JUST big park areas.
Mar 12, 2010 2:45 AMplaces for multiple uses that serve all ages
Mar 12, 2010 8:49 PMResident's garden spaces

Mar 24, 2010 3:57 AMpath for riding bikes and scooters
Mar 24, 2010 5:55 AMThere are lots of sports fields being built at Magnusson. We don't need to be a destination for that purpose with those so nearby.
Mar 24, 2010 6:42 AMBBQ, picnic, gathering, small group events
Mar 24, 2010 3:35 PMSwimming and a Dog Park

Mar 30, 2010 3:01 AMGardens and benches are very important if they are multi-use like the benches are apart of an ampitheatre or public art and the gardens are better if they are edible plants or rain gardens not just more to water
Mar 30, 2010 4:52 AMThe open space, itself, surrounded by stately trees, is important in its own right
Mar 30, 2010 5:09 AMPulbic places to find shade in summer and sun in winter nourish the soul as well as the body - we need more of these!
Mar 30, 2010 5:49 AMpaths

Apr 4, 2010 5:30 AMwading pools are a great asset
Apr 4, 2010 11:03 PMBENCHES are critical. As we age, our walking is limited by the opportunity to sit and pause.

Apr 9, 2010 4:24 PMinstead of static spaces, like parks, urban trails, more natural walking paths than cement (which is always right next to the street)
Apr 10, 2010 5:36 PMOccasional use for community events
Apr 10, 2010 9:07 PMPublic spaces for teenagers, not just younger kids.

May 6, 2010 4:03 AMThere needs to be an enforcement of dogs being on leash. People constantly violate the law by letting their dogs run free in parks and school play grounds, even when signs are posted otherwise.
