Mar 4, 2010 2:28 AMkeep the streetscape "shallow", viz. no more than, say, 3 stories.
Mar 4, 2010 6:16 PMthere are many businesses in our area that are of no use to our household
Mar 4, 2010 8:22 PMThe non-chain businesses have a "neighborhood feel" that I like and highly value.
Mar 4, 2010 11:45 PMI'd like to do more of my errands in Wedgwood (Hardware store for example).
Mar 5, 2010 7:51 PMBusinesses are primarily dull right now. Needs to be a little more like Fremont. All we have is coffee and hair salons.
Mar 5, 2010 10:30 PMmore diversity of businesses; art galleys; more restaurants
Mar 6, 2010 3:05 AMneed for at least one up-scale restaurant
Mar 6, 2010 3:57 AMYou still have to drive everywhere as their isn't a core business neigborhood.
Mar 6, 2010 4:23 AMlocally owned and operated businesses increase local job sources and build community among patrons.
Mar 6, 2010 5:00 AMNeeds to "feel' like business District; ala West Seattle
Mar 6, 2010 5:26 PMI like getting to know and trust the business people i the neighborhood
Mar 8, 2010 5:29 AMno more nail salons or tanning shops
Mar 9, 2010 3:37 PMI would like a credit union in Wedgwood rather than so many of the large national banks.
Mar 9, 2010 6:26 PMparking is an issue in some cases making it difficult for local residents
Mar 9, 2010 6:50 PMmust keep out ugly chains ie;McDonalds, etc

Mar 10, 2010 4:25 AMneed more choices, few more good restaurants, a gym
Mar 10, 2010 5:22 AMMore outdoor cafes, etc. Provide seating at QFC for those who buy coffee and pastries.
Mar 11, 2010 2:26 AMneed comprehensive plan to better support our local businesses.
Mar 13, 2010 8:06 PMFantastic walkability; great restaurants and stores right here
Mar 13, 2010 10:00 PMNot wild about a bunch of pubs - quaint name for a bar!
Mar 15, 2010 1:23 AMWish there were greater variety of restaurants. (I'm vegetarian; no local options.)
Mar 15, 2010 8:06 PMWe benefit from public institutions within walking distance, too: the Post Office and the NE Library.
Mar 17, 2010 5:45 PMQFC is not my preferred grocery store, unfortunately.
Mar 21, 2010 4:22 AMencourage local business(farmer) in wedgwood district

Mar 22, 2010 1:36 AMAffordable restaurants
Mar 24, 2010 4:30 PMLocallly owned as much as possible
Mar 24, 2010 7:50 PMI will address here, but the extraneous noise of businesses (i.e.: music piped outside at Starbucks which can be heard for several blocks) is of concern to me.
Mar 26, 2010 8:42 PMDestination businesses (ie, restaurants) draw people into the neighborhood.
Mar 27, 2010 3:53 PMIf we can shop in our neighborhood, why are people still in their cars if they could walk?
Mar 28, 2010 9:43 AMWe need more places to eat. Too few, and frankly too low in quality. No fast food or garbage either. Subway is bad enough.

Mar 30, 2010 11:39 PMthe independent business is no different than a chain. They are all out to make money. Period. Starbux is ok but not macdonalds? gimme a break.
Mar 31, 2010 6:00 PMGet rid of QFC--they don't belong here. A small independent would be much better.

Apr 1, 2010 8:10 PMvariety of services is important!!
Apr 4, 2010 5:26 AMI'd like to see more family friendly places for dining, etc. And some new cuisine choices. Mexican would be awesome!
Apr 5, 2010 5:19 PMWe need some more little shops like Fresh, or 60th street desserts, a the two has no real draw I'm sorry to say . It's sad that the project at the Jewish center is just sitting there is a enpty tag build build better than what the builders wanted to do? I dont think so! That building sure dosent' help the feel or look of a Vision it just makes us look getto and it hurst schools tryign to recrut students and others retailers looking for space.
Apr 8, 2010 3:31 AMWe should not discourage business like Starbucks, if it means being able to walk and stay in our neighborhood.
Apr 8, 2010 5:33 PMBeing able to walk or bike for local shopping is a major strong point here.
Apr 8, 2010 7:35 PMindependent business give variety, individuallity to area
