WEDGWOOD RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY REPORT: August 2009

8/05/09
3900 block NE 73rd -- The resident was away from the house all day. When she returned, she found that a side door had been kicked in and the house rifled. Computer equipment and jewelry were among the items stolen.

8/06/09
2500 block NE 98th -- The resident was away all day and left a window open to ventilate the house. When she returned, she found the screen pried off the window and jewelry stolen.

8/08/09
2500 block NE 95th -- The residents were away overnight. When they returned, they found that a kitchen window had been broken out and the house ransacked. A neighbor said that at about 11:10AM she saw a male she described as Asian, 5'6" and thin, walking through her back yard and car port. The victims were not sure if any property was missing.

8/14/09
8200 block Ravenna Ave NE -- The resident was away from the house. When she arrived home, she saw that a kitchen window was broken. She checked and could find no items missing.

8/19/09
8700 block 26th NE -- The residents were gone all day. When they came home, they found that their front door had pry marks. No entry was made. A neighbor reported seeing two males described as white, late teens to early 20s, walking in the area and out of the victim's yard.

8900 block 25th Pl. NE -- The resident was home when he heard the doorbell ring followed by a loud bang. He checked and found damage to the front door. No entry was made, and the suspect was not seen.

8/31/09
2500 block NE 91st -- The resident was away for a short time during the early evening. When she got home, she saw that her door was ajar and called 911. Officers found a bedroom window that had been broken into. The house was ransacked and a laptop and jewelry were stolen.
