The following message was sent out through the NE Seattle Mom’s Yahoo Group. It’s a great reminder to keep your doors and windows locked. Also, keep your eyes pealed for the two young white men in a red Chrysler Lebaron convertible described.
Our home (near the Fiddler) was burgled today at 1:00pm by two young white men early 20’s wearing UW sweats and driving a red Chrysler le Baron convertible or similar model. They were BOLD. We live on a corner and they cased out the house from their car then parked, got out with cameras and took pictures. One left in the car while the other broke into a backyard access bathroom window. Our neighbor witnessed all of this from across the street then confirmed her suspicions when she saw him in the house through the front windows. He had already taken all of our jewelry, cash and camara equipment when he saw he had been spotted and he ran out the front door to where his buddy was waiting in the car around the corner. All of this took less than 10 minutes.
So, why’d the neighbor watch for so long w/o calling police? I would think a burglary “in progress” would bring a response within five minutes at most.
Sorry to hear of the robbery. That’s an awful feeling. Take care.
