If you stop anyone in the neighborhood and ask them if they’re familiar with Wedgwood Elementary, chances are they’ll have a child who attends, know someone with children who go there, or even be an alumnus or alumna themselves.
Wedgwood Elementary has been educating local families since 1953, after the Seattle School District determined conditions were too over-crowded in neighboring Ravenna, Bryant and View Ridge. The district selected a former cherry and apple orchard as the site, and the school settled into its permanent space in 1955. Wedgwood Elementary has since become one of the most beloved schools in Northeast Seattle, with its top-notch education and emphasis on the student experience.
And now, you can help continue that tradition by participating in their annual pledge drive! Held every winter, the 2011 pledge drive kicked off on December 14th and continues into the new year. Your donations are gladly accepted via PayPal, and you can even check to see if your company will provide a matching gift.
