The first Tuesday in August every year is Seattle’s Night Out Against Crime. Tuesday, August 7 is the night in this city-supported program. It has been shown that nothing is more effective against crime than neighborhood awareness, so the Night Out is intended to help neighbors get to know one another in a Block Party format. The blog of City Councilmember Sally Bagshaw is humorously named “Sally Blogshaw” and gives links on how to register your block for its Night Out Against Crime, how have your street closed for the event, and provides flyers which you can use to distribute to neighbors.
