Seattle and participating local water utilities are offering Savvy Gardener Classes brought to you by the Saving Water Partnership and Cascade Water Alliance. On Saturday, September 15 from 9 to 10:30 AM a class will be offered on Beautiful Solutions for Gardening on Slopes. The class will be held at the Magnuson Community Center and the speaker is Emily Bishton, landscape designer and environmental educator. Learn how you can replace hard-to-mow slopes with beautiful, easy care plantings. Subjects covered will be soil-building steps, plant selection, planting techniques and proper watering. Demonstration will be shown in Magnuson Park of how a heavily-compacted slope in the park has been completely transformed. Registration for the class is required: go to the registration page or phone the Magnuson Community Center at 206-684-7026.
