Saturday, December 29, will be the day of Seattle Audubon’s annual Bird Count, and they ask that participants register by Monday, December 17. A $5 donation to support the Seattle Audubon Citizen Science program is asked, payable on the day of the Bird Count. The count will take place during daylight hours, rain or shine. For hardy souls willing to spend almost all day outdoors, there will be a reward at the end, a potluck dinner to be held at Wedgwood Presbyterian Church, 8008 35th Ave NE. Results of the species counts will be given at dinnertime. The Seattle Audubon office and Nature Shop is located at 8050 35th Ave NE. Contact them for more info at 523-4483, or stop by and do your holiday shopping.
