UPDATE: The Wedgwood View just posted a nice piece on Wayne, the original voice behind the blog.
Wayne Allen Wurzer, devoted husband and father and dedicated journalist, died December 16, 2012 after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was 50 years old.
Wayne loved writing and over his career as a journalist he worked with the Seattle Times and PI newspapers as well as providing content to corporations for their publications. Locally he worked with the Wedgwood View neighborhood blog and for his family-owned business, the All That Dance studio at 8507 35th Ave NE. Wayne was involved in the Wedgwood community in many unseen ways, always a neighborhood booster of businesses and very involved in coaching children in sports.
Wayne is survived by Maygan, his loving wife of fourteen years; their nine-year-old twin boys Jackson and Tyler; daughter Whitney Davis and her husband Scott; two grandchildren; parents Richard and Sue Wurzer; brother Ron and sister Leslie.
A memorial service for Wayne will be on Friday, December 21 at 2 PM at the Center for Spiritual Living, 5801 Sand Point Way NE. You can read Wayne’s inspiring story and share your memories of Wayne for his children on his guest book on the CaringBridge site.
