Hoedown for Hunger

Hoedown for Hunger is a community festival to bring together those who are passionate about preventing hunger in their community. On Saturday, July 27, the Hoedown for Hunger will be held from 11 to 4 at Magnuson Park, 7400 Sand Point Way NE.  Admission to the event is free and you are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank.  All proceeds from food, beverage and beer garden sales will benefit North Helpline and their work of keeping our neighbors fed.

The Hoedown for Hunger will have a full day of fun events, including a watermelon rolling contest, tug of war, and line dancing.  Live music starts at 11 AM with demonstrations of line dancing, square dancing and zydeco dancing.  Food vendors will have hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers and snow cones for purchase.  Fremont Brewing Company, Red Hook and Elliott Bay will be at the beer garden, and there will be a kid’s tent with face painting and crafts.  The last weekend of July is historically the best weather of the year, so plan to come out for the Hoedown!

Traffic advisory:  During this season of road work, traffic on Sand Point Way NE is northbound only.  To get to Magnuson Park, go across NE 70th Street to Sand Point Way NE.
