The NE Seattle Tool Library is a great community resource with tools to borrow and surplus tools to buy. Located at 2415 NE 80th Street, just west of the traffic light on 25th Ave NE at NE 80th Street, the Tool Library will have a surplus tool and community garage sale on Saturday, September 28, from 9 AM to 2 PM. You can find more info on their webpage or call 524-6062. The Tool Library is open on Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 PM. Stop by at that time and meet the new Tool Library Coordinator Dave Gifford.
The Tool Library has several large shop tools, numerous hand tools, many tool boxes and containers, and a food dehydrator available for sale. Why not think ahead to the holiday season — would you like to give young homeowners a basic tool kit? Or outfit your teens with the tools and know-how to do fix-it jobs around the house? A toolbox and starter set of hand tools would make a great gift.
Several community members will set up garage-sale tables at the Tool Library Sale. If you would like to set up your table to sell stuff, the cost will be $15 to benefit the Tool Library. Additionally, the Library’s new cider press will be available for anyone to use that day. Bring your apples to press into cider — don’t forget to bring containers and a strong arm to turn the crank!
