This holiday season you can shop locally in Wedgwood, support the work of nature conservancy and purchase high-quality gifts at the Seattle Audubon Nature Shop, 8050 35th Ave NE. On Saturday, December 7 from 10 to 5 there will be an Open House with special activities for children between the hours of 11 to 3.
The Open House will feature gift-wrapping with purchase. Have some cookies and hot cider while selecting gifts such as shade-grown coffee, books, calendars, earrings, stationery, Audubon memberships, birdfeeders, binoculars, maps and field guides, and much more. For childrens’ gifts there are books, games, puzzles and puppets.
This year’s special feature is the new Must-See Birds by Sarah Swanson of the Audubon Society of Portland and Max Smith of the US Forest Service. The book has info on iconic species and where to see birds in Washington and Oregon, plus suggested weekend birding trips.
