Seattle Public Utilities is getting ready to replace the city’s North Transfer Station (1350 North 34th Street) with a more modern and efficient facility that will meet the growing future needs of the city.
To prepare for the demolition and rebuild work, the station will close permanently after 5:30 PM on Monday, January 20. A new North Transfer Station is expected to open on the same site in 2016. To learn more about the North Transfer Station Rebuild Project, visit the project website.
Options while the station is closed: Use the new South Transfer Station facility at 130 South Kenyon Street in South Park, or avoid the dump altogether by arranging for a pickup of bulky items, appliances and electronics.
