At their most recent meeting Sustainable NE Seattle had presentations and thoughtful discussion on “where to go from here.” There was unanimous agreement to organize as a non-profit, elect a Board and transition to the new structure by May 2014. Sustainable NE Seattle will continue to include multiple working groups and projects, each with decision-making authority within their respective domains. Representatives from these working groups and projects will meet in a Council to help coordinate the growth and goals of the organization as a whole.
The next step is to draft operating policies to explain the relationships between the roles of the Board, the Council, and the Working Groups. The next meeting to begin crafting the Policy Draft Document is on Monday, March 31, 7 to 9 PM.
