The Ravenna-Bryant Community Association will have a general meeting on Tuesday, May 6, at 7 PM and everyone is welcome to attend.  The featured speaker will be Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes on the topic of the City’s efforts to tackle housing code violations in the Ravenna and Roosevelt neighborhoods.

Driving by Roosevelt High School, one can see boarded up, blighted properties all around the intersection of 15th Ave NE and NE 65th Street.  A notorious landlord owns more than fifty properties and has been fighting the City for decades on maintenance and use of the houses.  The issue has been in the courts and the City Attorney will discuss how the problem is being addressed.

Also on the agenda for the evening is the Safe Roads projects including Safe Routes to School and traffic calming efforts.  Staff from the Seattle Department of Transportation will give updates.

The meeting will be held at the Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center at 6535 Ravenna Ave NE.
