Linking to Light Rail

Help Metro and Sound Transit improve connections between buses and light rail when new Link service begins.

Starting in 2016, Sound Transit’s University Link light rail extension will connect the University District with Capitol Hill, downtown Seattle, Rainier Valley, and Sea-Tac Airport. Metro and Sound Transit are thinking about ways to connect the new light rail service with buses to make an efficient network of service.

The Link extension will add two stations: one on Capitol Hill at Broadway and E John Street, and one at the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium. Some buses will connect with these new Link stations to make it easy for riders to transfer between buses and light rail. Other changes will restructure service to create a faster, more reliable, and easy-to-use transit network.

What do you think?

Do you use transit on Capitol Hill, in the University District, or in northeast Seattle? Metro and Sound Transit are reaching out to these communities for input on how best to connect our services.

Please join the conversation and tell how you use bus service today, what works well, and what you’d like to see change. Your input will help shape the future of transit in these areas.  Go to the project page to take a survey and find out about upcoming public meetings.
