Neighbors on the western edge of Wedgwood where NE 85th Street goes through from Ravenna Ave NE to Lake City Way NE, have applied for Neighborhood Street Funds to improve the roadway, drainage and environmental issues.  On April 23 work was done to beat back the jungle of vegetation along NE 85th and another work party is being held this Saturday, May 14th, from 9 to noon.

Everyone is invited to pitch in.  We will be working in the swampy area on NE 85th Street nearest to the corner of Ravenna Ave NE.  Because of the lack of available parking there, you are encouraged to park your car on 21st Ave NE where the group will assemble and walk eastward on NE 85th.  Bring gloves, water bottles, and tools for clearing blackberry bushes and digging out blackberry roots.

We will be loading a large trailer to haul the debris to a transfer station.  The City of Seattle gave vouchers for free dumping to help accomplish this neighborhood clean-up, and since the vouchers will expire soon, all possible efforts are going into the clean-up now.  All help will be appreciated!  We hope that you can make it!
