Pet Safety on the Fourth of JulyWith the Fourth of July weekend coming up, pet owners are advised to make a plan for their animals to be kept safe and calm during fireworks displays.  Even if your dog has not been a scaredy-cat in the past, you never know what will happen this year.

During the holiday weekend, watch pets closely and keep them indoors including times when you are not home.  Many a pet owner has left a dog in the backyard only to find it somehow escaped and ran away when frightened by fireworks.  The same goes for cats — they get scared of the sound of firecrackers, run away and get lost, too.
