Burke-Gilman Trail Missing Link Meetings in July 2016

On July 14th and 16th there will be meetings to address a gap in the Burke-Gilman Trail called the Missing Link.

FOLLOW-UP:  Here is a report on the results of the July meetings and the decision process for a completion route to “close the gap” on the Burke-Gilman Trail.

Even though the Burke-Gilman Trail was established more than thirty years ago, there is still a gap in the Trail called the Missing Link.  At 11th NW near the Ballard Locks the Trail discontinues and bicyclists must find their way across city streets to get to the next segment of the Trail.  Here is an explanation and analysis of why the gap in the Trail still exists, and what is being done to create a closing-the-gap bike route.

On July 14 and 16 meetings will be held to consider ways to close the gap via bypass routes.  The meetings will be held at Leif Erikson.Hall in Ballard, 2245 NW 57th Street.  The meeting times are:
