Adopt Your Street Drain

Seattle Public Utilities asks everyone to adopt the street drain nearest to your house.  Rake leaves out to clear the drain and prevent water from backing up and flooding your street.

Autumn leaves are beautiful but if a street drain is clogged with fallen leaves, the results will not be pretty.  Seattle Public Utilities ask everyone to keep an eye out for clogged drains.  Seattle has more than 80,000 street drains and City crews can’t get to them all this weekend.  Exercise your Wedgwoodian community activism by raking leaves on and around your street drain, but do so safely — don’t stand in the street.
