Event Round-Up for the Week of October 17 to 23, 2016

The week of October 17 to 23, 2016, is full of choices for activities and fun events.

north-helpline-fundraiser-october-20-2016On Monday evening, October 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM you can attend an Open House to see the plans for the repaving of 35th Ave NE.  The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) representatives will be there to answer questions.  This is a drop-in format for looking at the designs and talking with SDOT.  The venue is the cafeteria of Roosevelt High School.

On Wednesday, October 19th, Meadowbrook Community Kitchen will have a family cooking program to learn about food preparation.

On Thursday, October 20th, you can dine out and help the food bank at the same time by eating at Mama Stortini’s at the Northgate Mall.  The fundraiser will give 10% of sales to the food bank.

Do you have unused and unwanted prescription medications?  Saturday, October 22nd is National Drug Take-Back Day and you can dispose of medications safely at any Seattle Police Precinct, between the hours of 10 AM to 2 PM.

Got your Halloween pumpkin?  Check out the pumpkins at the Hunter Tree Farm.  The annual sales, a fundraiser for a Scout Troop, is open Saturdays and Sundays through October 30th.

Sunday, October 23 at 10:30 AM:  There will be a work party at the Morningside Park (on 35th Ave NE at the corner of NE 86th Street.)   Meet Wedgwood volunteers to do clean-up at the site — weed, rake, and pick up trash.  Bring trash bags, gloves, weeding tools.  See you there!
