A developer is making plans to replace the trailer park at 2101 NE 88th Street with a townhouse complex. The next step is a Design Review Board meeting on Monday, November 21st, at which plans will be presented.

Few people are aware that there is a trailer park on the western edge of Wedgwood, at NE 88th Street next to Lake City Way NE. The Intracorp developer is in process to build a townhouse complex there, after the year-long timeline for current residents to move out by May 2017.
As required by state law for low-income tenants, the current trailer park residents are being assisted by a social service agency to find other housing, and cash moving help is also specified by state law RCW 59.18.440. The City of Seattle’s Tenant Relocation Assistance Ordinance adds to that and requires that half of the relocation assistance be paid by the developer (see Seattle Municipal Code 22.210)
The process of building the new townhouses includes “design review” which is presented at a public meeting. The Design Review Board members are volunteers who oversee architectural and site planning, measuring the presentation according to the City’s Design Guidelines.
The townhouse presentation will be on November 21st at 6:30 PM at the Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford. See address and meeting info here:
