Volunteers of the Wedgwood Community Council turned out on October 23rd to clean up our future park at the corner of NE 86th Street.
While we wait for development funding, the volunteers of the Wedgwood Community Council maintain Wedgwood’s future park at the corner of NE 86th Street. Sometimes called Morningside Park because of a City Light electrical substation which was there in earlier years, this site was selected in the year 2010 as the top preferred location for a pocket park for Wedgwood. The Seattle Parks Department has said that “our turn” for park development will come in the year 2019.
We thank all the excellent volunteers who came out today for clean-up. Look for WCC volunteers again on Halloween, serving as crossing guards at the intersections of NE 75th and 85th Streets. Additional WCC volunteers will hand out community council info cards and will have glow sticks for children at the Halloween event. See you there, 4 to 6 PM on Monday, October 31st!
