Here is a letter to Wedgwood from John Finelli, Wedgwood Community Council president:
To the residents of Wedgwood, neighbors and friends of northeast Seattle:

John Finelli (at right) participated with other community council volunteers at Spring Clean 2016.
I (John) began volunteering with the Wedgwood Community Council in Spring 2015 and and I am the current president of the community council. I know that in the past few months we have been hit with tons and tons of politics. Now that the election has taken place and we know the result, some of us may feel unheard, or unrepresented, and do not know what we can do as a community.
I felt the need to reach out to you all as a neighbor and citizen of the planet. There are good things happening throughout our city and state. We do have an opportunity to organize and make sure we are heard on a basic civic level. I am writing to let you know that there are small things we can do as a community. Please take the time to learn about your neighborhood councils as they are the most grassroots civic groups that there are. We may not ever be in 100% harmonious agreement on everything that affects our city and neighborhoods, yet I want you all to understand there are ways to make change.
We at the WCC are an active organization which works with other local neighborhood groups and leaders. We do our best to stay non-partisan and stay on top of the City projects happening with Wedgwood and surrounding areas. We work with our City Councilmembers. We work with the businesses along 35th Ave NE and other neighborhood small businesses. We organize social events to highlight the unity of our community. We work with environmental and sustainability groups including Sustainable NE Seattle. We do our best to make sure that our community needs in an ever-changing city are heard.
All of what we do takes activism, volunteers, time, patience, dedication, and compassion towards one another. The benefit of all this work is a safer, connected community and betterment of our quality of life.

The November 22nd Wedgwood Community Council meeting will be held at OneLife Community Church at 3524 NE 95th Street.
I am extending an invitation to all who would like to attend our Tuesday, November 22nd meeting to be held from 7 to 9 PM at the One Life Community Church, 3524 NE 95th Street. There is ample parking on the east side of the church building and the entrance to the meeting space is directly from the parking lot. Please join us for light refreshments beginning at 7 PM. We would enjoy the opportunity to get to know our neighbors, members new and old. This will also be a great way for you to get to know our community council trustees prior to the start of the meeting at 7:30 PM. In our meeting we will briefly discuss some of the street plans (City of Seattle Department of Transportation) going on in the near future as well as long-term paving projects in north Seattle. We welcome you even if Wedgwood is not your geographic neighborhood organization as we would love to meet you all the same, and we can connect you with groups in your area.

Sincerely,
John Finelli, Wedgwood Community Council President
Well Mr. President, why is there a “homeless” tent on 35th Avenue NE beside RiteAid?
Trash is building. This is not a Police matter, but a Seattle City Council and Neighborhood matter. Homelessness is a huge problem that has not been addressed adequately but these street camp(s) must be stopped.
