Join Emerald City Women’s Chorus for Spring Session

The Emerald City Women’s Chorus extends an invitation to women of all ages who want to sing in a non-audition chorus in North Seattle. The chorus is a fun and supportive community of singers who love to sing for the joy of it. They want to expand membership for all parts and welcome new singers.

Prospective members are encouraged to attend a rehearsal before making a decision to join the chorus. The chorus meets at the Wedgwood Community Church on Monday nights, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Spring session starts on Monday, April 16. This shorter session, with 7 rehearsals, is perfect for new members to see what the chorus is all about. Cost is $80 and includes music for each singer to keep. The chorus typically sings a mix of genres: show tunes, classical, contemporary, folk, rock ‘n roll, and an occasional song in a foreign language. Spring session ends on Monday, June 4 when the chorus will participate in a community concert at Music Center of the Northwest with two other choral groups.

Emerald City Women’s Chorus was established in Fall 2017 in collaboration with Music Center of the Northwest and has about 40 members. Stacia Cumberland is the chorus artistic director, and Tom Hecker is the accompanist. For information about the chorus (1) call Sharon Glein at (206) 525-7497 (please leave a message), (2) register through Music Center of the Northwest by calling (206) 526-8443, or (3) come at 7:15 p.m. before the first rehearsal at the Wedgwood Community Church, 8201 30th Ave NE (lower level), Seattle on Monday, April 16, 2018.

  1. Hi This is Kathy Lillie,

I do so miss the Rain City Women’s Chorus (dir. Jo-ann Christen. Imagine the new chorus has some of the same members. I don’t think I can get to rehearsals any more due to no car. But I can still sing. The only problem is I don’t drive and I live at the retirement place 5300 24th Ave. NE.

    Good luck. Kathy
