Like the 2 statements about black lives and asians. I scanned thru them and did not notice any thing about alternative lifestyles. I have lived in Wedgwood for about 50 years and we raised our children here. I have managed 4 rentals (now 2) here. I have leased to alternative lifestyles, whites and black and brown Human Beings. They are my neighbors as well. Mostly well accepted. I would like to see lifestyles addressed as well.
What is moderation of a comment?
Thanks, Estell! All comments are held for “moderation” before we allow them to be posted. Provided comments are legitimate (e.g., made by a person) and not disrespectful, we post it. We mainly use this “moderation” to screen out a lot of bot spam that we get from being added to our website.
Fair point, Estell!
Sorry I missed it. Can you post the meeting minutes or a recording?
Curious about meeting minutes around the QFC and Wedgwood Ale House – what’s new? What’s happening with those spaces?
Wedgwood Ale House and Apartment property: It’s for sale. Nothing more known for now.
QFC property: QFC hasn’t provided formal notification to the owner that they do not intend to fulfill their lease agreement. The owner has heard from a lot of folks informally. We have consistently said we want a grocery store at that location within any plans.
Is there any timeline for eviction on the QFC property?
Not sure what you mean with the term “eviction.” QFC has about 3 years left on their lease. Either QFC needs to notify the owner they do not intend to fulfill their lease or the owner has to cancel the lease. No timeline on either of these things.
Eviction as in landlord termination of the lease. That’s what it would be. And they should, as leaving the store vacant would be a huge insult on top of injury not only to the area residents but damaging to the other nearby businesses.
I think we could easily mobilize the Wedgwood community to take action on this. Kroger is a mega-corporation, but not immune to community dissatisfaction. The building will easily fall to graffiti, which then spreads. The entire strip of land there, including the strip mall, are ripe for development (doesn’t one owner own all the land there down towards the Audobon Society?). It would not surprise me to see it all razed within 3 years to make way for the Ballardian overlords, who will transform the entire area.
Per, let’s discuss. I can rejoin WCC just to see this through, but only if you think there is a community path that would work. Call any time.
