Grant Received! Congrats Think Big Wedgwood!

Think Big Wedgwood (TBW), a collection of residents from greater Wedgwood who have come together to make change in our community through the creation of art, non-violent direct action, and community engagement, recently was notified that they received a grant from the Department of Neighborhoods. The grant funds TBW to lead a public design process to design non-commercial banners along 35th Ave NE within Wedgwood to create a sense of unity in our neighborhood through art that communicates that Wedgwood welcomes all. Not only will the banners bring art and beauty to the business district, but the banners will hopefully contribute to the sense that 35th Ave NE is a safe place for everyone.

The Wedgwood Community Council is pleased to have contributed to the project’s concept and will serve as fiscal sponsor. However, we’re excited to see what TBW comes up with.

TBW is the group which have graciously activated Wedgwood’s newest, albeit undeveloped park space at 35th Ave NE and NE 86th Street. Their group is responsible for the beautiful and inspiring banners hanging up at that park site.
